Being a team lead or broker is a lot of work. Point blank. You’re working on building a team, following up with leads, making sure everything is efficient and running like a well-oiled machine. It is easy to spread yourself thin and want to be everywhere at once. When we talked to Chris Flores, a Team Leader at RE/MAX Plus, he recounted the same struggles of being a team leader. He was spending countless hours trying to be everywhere at once, so much so that he was only getting a few hours of sleep at night. He was trying to keep up with his leads and build a team at the same time. He knew he needed to get help if he wanted to grow.
“I thought I was superman. I can do it all. I can do it from top to bottom, start to finish. But you start building up the clientele, the pipeline, you start getting more leads, you start building the business, you slowly start seeing that you're spreading yourself thin and now you're not working your normal hours. Now you're sleeping maybe two, three hours a day and you start realizing that you might need help,” Chris said.
For Chris, the most important part of his business was following up with all the leads and following up consistently. “Analysts have all agreed and said that, it's not on the first contact, but on average it's on the sixth or seventh contact that you actually are able to establish some type of communication with the lead. I needed someone to be able to do that,” he said.
Chris knew he needed an ISA to be able to keep up with his leads while he focused on growing his team.
Since Chris was very diligent with his lead follow up, he had a high conversion rate. This meant that his ISA would need to go above and beyond with all the leads, even late at night or early in the morning.
“My big issue was that I couldn't find somebody reliable and I couldn't justify hiring somebody, bringing them onto my team, trying to train them from top to bottom, dealing with all that stress and time. Who am I going to hire and how much am I going to pay them to be able to work leads from 10pm to 6am while I'm sleeping? Very few people are going to sign up for that kind of schedule. I would have to pay them four, five, or six times as much and get half the conversions. It doesn’t make any sense,” Chris said.
“Consistency is definitely key and that's something that I was looking for. I thought about doing a human inside sales agent, but we as humans can only do so much. Someone like the AI Assistant is able to do it 24/7. I do have leads that come in at 2 and 3 in the morning and they're up and ready to talk. Odds are my competition is sleeping just like I am, but my business hasn't stopped,” he continued.
When Chris first came across the AI Assistant he was unsure about using Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) instead of a human. “I was hesitant about A.I. like most people will be about artificial intelligence technology. I was very skeptical about it. I thought it was gonna be a canned message and I was like I already have this, but I'm going to do it because I need to try something new and I did and you know, it's one of the best decisions I've made in a very long time. It's been great,” Chris said.
After getting his Realtor.com and Facebook leads connected in just a few minutes, the AI Assistant was able to begin her job. No training was required from Chris and he was able to get on with his day. “There's so many different ways you can use the AI Assistant. You can have her integrated into your webpage, you can have her integrated into your Facebook Messenger, you can have her follow up as soon as a lead fills out a form. She’s very flexible with the type of lead that you send her. It's great. I was surprised at how she was able to handle these kinds of situations and conversations. I can relax and rest assured that it's going to be handled in the right way,” he said.
In the last few months, the AI Assistant has engaged and qualified hundreds of leads for Chris which has led to a significant number of appointments. “Of the leads that the AI Assistant is able to establish contact with, she is able to schedule about 50% of those appointments and turn those into real appointments,” he said. Not to mention that his lead volume has also increased by 50% since hiring the AI Assistant.
